Enjoy a curated selection of rare, heirloom organic chili peppers chosen by our farmer and partner chefs. We'll include a detailed history of each pepper along with recipes and pepper handling, storage and cooking tips made in collaboration with local chef.
This box is curated by Chef Dionicio Jiménez, of Cantina la Martina (Philadelphia) and La Baja (Ambler).
Chef chooses his favorite peppers growing in our fields and we'll include some of his best tips, tricks and recipes to prepare these special peppers at home. You will receive a mix of Chef's specially selected peppers. Exact selections TBD.
About our Chef Partner:
Chef Dionicio Jimenez is the founder of Cantina la Martina. A Mexican native who has claimed Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, as his second home for the past twenty-plus years. Upon arriving in Philadelphia, Dionicio spent nine years working alongside Chef Marc Vetri at Vetri Cucina, with no doubt these years contributed to his professional formation. In 2007, he joined the team behind Xochilt as executive chef. Xochitl was selected as one of the best 10 Mexican Restaurants in the country. In 2010, Chef became the executive chef at El Rey with STARR group and contributed to growing their footprint for Mexican food. In 2022, he opened the doors of Cantina la Martina located in Kensington, Philadelphia, where the James Beard Foundation nominated him as Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic and Outstanding Chef. In 2024, Chef Dionicio Jimenez and his wife Mariangeli Alicea opened La Baja in Ambler, PA.
